How we work and what we believe in

MMK is a digital agency. We make things in 1s and 0s that looks pretty and make people go ooooh and ahhhhh.

We took the decision a while back to stop listing fifteen different specific skills that we have inhouse. Because once you say you can do a number of things, you end up being an expert in none.

We’ve condensed our What We Do in to three things.

Developing marketing strategies

Our strategy team has 45 years’ experience in creating marketing strategies and plans. We done it above, below, through, and on the line, multi-channel, omni-channel, niche, targeted and so on.

Between us we’ve spent about £1.2bn of advertising money in the past, both as clients and working at agencies, and have worked in almost every sector.

On top of that, we were in at the sharp end when digital started, viral marketing, social media, mobile. And we’ve worked with clients big and small to show them how to make the most of their money

Building excellent web stuff

Our development team is split in to design and build. The designers don’t touch code, they work with the developers to stretch the limits of HTML5 and CSS3.

In the past we’ve been accused (apparently) of being too exciting. Which is fine by us.

In reality, we start with usability and what consumers want. That’s the most important thing. Then we do all we can to come up with something fantastic. Whether it’s a website, an application, an alternate reality game, or a recommendation engine.

Social and viral campaigns and tools

Whilst you can’t make something go viral, you can create a piece of work which gives you the best chance of being passed around and spoken about.

People tend to get excited about creating social campaigns, but the reality is that most people don’t engage, mock them, and aren’t interested.

We build tools and campaigns that get the right people interested, and then help to share it around. We won’t run Twitter accounts though, unless it’s for a depressed reindeer going through a creative lull (this is a true story)

The main thing we do is to use our experience to give our clients the best ideas and then help them deliver these ideas.

Most people come to us because they are bored of doing the same thing time after time, but need advice on what they should be doing. We help them work this out and then make it for them.
